East West Bank Honors Pasadena’s First Responders with Contributions to the Police and Fire Departments

JULY 23, 2021

Pasadena, CA – East West Bank, the largest independent bank headquartered in Southern California, honored first responders by presenting $10,000 contributions to the Pasadena Police Foundation and to the Pasadena Fire Department’s designated charity, 809 Fight 4 Awareness. The contributions were presented to Police Chief John Perez and Fire Chief Chad Augustin at a Public Safety and Community Engagement event at East West’s Pasadena Commercial Banking Center. In his remarks, the bank’s Chairman and CEO Dominic Ng thanked Police Chief Perez for his 36 years of service and welcomed Fire Chief Augustin to his new post at the city. Other local officials and representatives from community organizations participated in the event.

“At East West Bank, we are committed to building bridges to the communities we serve,” said Travis Kiyota, SVP-Head of Global Corporate Affairs. “The past year has been challenging. As the economy begins to re-open, East West is delighted to reconnect with our public safety and community partners. They improve the quality of life in this great city, and we’re here to help them build a stronger community together.”

East West Bank was founded in Los Angeles in 1973, moved its headquarters to Pasadena in 2006, and has grown to become one of the top 25 largest publicly-traded commercial banks in the country.
