MARCH 8, 2025
In partnership with our long-standing partner Kaimore, an organization committed to breaking down barriers to economic mobility, our Southern California volunteer associates stepped up this tax season to support families in need. Through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, they provided essential tax preparation services to families for our client and nonprofit partner, Door of Hope.
Door of Hope is a transitional housing program that empowers families experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives with stability, independence, and dignity. With the help of our volunteers, participants received free tax filing assistance, helping them access valuable tax credits and keep more of what they earn.
The VITA program, an initiative led by the IRS, offers free tax help to people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers. Over 10 of our dedicated volunteers completed certification training to ensure families receive the refunds they deserve.
