Empowered EWB Women Build Home for Families in Need

MARCH 17, 2023

No rain can stop us! Our amazing team of female leaders once again rolled up their sleeves at this year’s San Gabriel Valley  Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build to build a home for a family in need.  Hosted indoors at the new Pasadena ReStore, our volunteers put in their sweat equity to assemble and construct the walls of the first SGV Habitat new construction home being built in Altadena, CA.

In observance of Women’s History Month, Habitat for Humanity’s annual Women Build movement has brought women and their allies together to raise funds and build homes side-by-side with families in need of affordable housing.  This event highlights how wage gap and lack of access to affordable housing disproportionately affects women. No strangers to putting hammer to nail, our EWB volunteers spent the day building alongside Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, members of the Tournament of Roses Royal Court, and other community volunteers.

As we celebrate the bank’s Golden Anniversary this year, we reflect on 50 years of building bridges that reflect our commitment to invest in affordable housing. Building homes leads to stronger communities and gives families the confidence to reach further. We are proud to play our part in developing a place people can call home.
