Perdu CCXII combines shimmering mother-of-pearl, layered paint, and textured surfaces to create a composition that appears simultaneously organic and technological. Across the two panels, abstract forms emerge and dissolve within a complex field of color and reflection, producing an image that shifts as the viewer moves through space. The iridescent surface recalls both natural formations and futuristic structures, a tension that lies at the heart of Lee Bul's practice. Balancing beauty with ambiguity, the work invites reflection on transformation, perception, and the evolving relationship between humanity and its constructed environments.
