Stepping Up to Stamp Out Hunger

Did you know 15 million U.S. households suffer from food insecurity? In fact, during the summer months, many students go hungry with the absence of school-supported food programs. Enter Stamp Out Hunger, the nation’s largest one-day food drive spearheaded by the National Association of Letter Carriers.

In partnership with United Way of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, and Salvation Army, Kitty Chen’s Southern California retail team recently volunteered to sort donations from the annual food drive.

This year, a record-breaking 80 million pounds of food was collected to help millions of struggling families. All eight of the bank’s Southern California retail teams were represented at this year’s event, making it such a collaborative, fun teambuilding experience showcasing our associates’ commitment to the community.

This is just the first step in “Stamping Out Hunger” and we’re are so glad to have been a part of the effort!
