Ending Homelessness One Step at a Time!
PUBLISHED MAY 18, 2019
On Saturday May 18th, Team East West Bank was out in full force at United Way's 12th Annual Homewalk, a 5K run/walk aimed to raise funds to end homelessness. As a steadfast supporter since the walk's inception, the bank remained one of the largest groups present this year with more than 300 members led by our CFO Irene Oh.
With 52,765 people on the streets or in temporary housing, the fight to end homelessness in Los Angeles is a huge undertaking. That's why events like HomeWalk exists. It's a step forward, and the support of groups like ours move the needle toward positive change.
In 2018, there was a 4% drop in the homeless population, proving that when action meets compassion, lives are transformed and saved. This year, HomeWalk collectively had over 10,000 participants and raised $1.1 million!
These results were possible because Team East West Bank members played a crucial role by recruiting HomeWalk participants and actively fundraising. A heartfelt thank you to all our associates, friends, and family who supported Homewalk by donating and part. You are the power of change!
