A Barking Success for the Year of the Dog!
PUBLISHED November 14, 2018
What a PAWSome Lunar Year of the Dog! This year the bank is proud to have spearheaded a series of activities to provide more people the opportunity to love and care for pets. As a result, over 100 families have welcomed furry friends into their “fur-ever” home.
Pet Adoption Series
Earlier this year, the bank hosted three Pet Adoption Series events in partnership with the South Los Angeles Animal Services Center, an animal shelter serving low-to-moderate income communities in South Los Angeles and beyond. We offered individuals and families an opportunity to save a loving animal by subsidizing 50% of adoption fees and giving out a starter kit gift to each family that adopted a pet.
Paws-On at Pasadena Humane Society
In addition to helping animals find loving homes, some of our associates have adopted a more hands on approach to working with dogs and cats, and are volunteering directly at the Pasadena Humane Society (PHS). All volunteers commit to extensive training and a minimum of 4 hours a month working at the shelter. They have actively participated in programs such as dog socializations, kitten-gardens and more.
Wiggle Waggle Walk
The beginning of fall was filled with barking delight as our associates volunteered for Pasadena Humane Society’s 20th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk, a fun-filled community dog walk which raises funds for animals in need at the shelter.
EWB Associates Bring Home New Best Friends
It doesn’t stop there! In the spirit of helping more pets find loving families, the bank encouraged associates to adopt a pet through their local animal shelter or animal rescue organization by offering a $100 Petco gift card for each adoption. We loved hearing their heartwarming stories!
East West Bank is proud to have played an active role in bringing families and pets together during the Lunar Year of the Dog. We wish all of our associates and furry friends a lifetime of happiness and companionship.
