Dominic Ng Accepts Corporation of the Year Award from ABALA and Delivers Keynote

East West Bank recently received the Corporation of the Year award from the Asian Business Association Los Angeles (ABALA). The award recognizes the bank’s leadership and involvement with community service, education, economic development, healthcare, and affordable housing. Our Chairman, President and CEO Dominic Ng accepted the award for the bank and delivered the keynote address at ABALA’s 42nd annual banquet.

As ABALA represents Asian-American entrepreneurs, Dominic spoke about the keys to leading a successful business and the importance of civic engagement. He stressed that the bank’s set of values (also known as ACCRUES) was vital to its growth and its ability to maintain the trust of the Asian-American businesses community over the decades. He concluded his remarks by encouraging audience members to make an impact in their communities and to support politicians who advocate for the equal rights of all U.S. citizens--minority or otherwise.

ABALA has a legacy of advocacy as well, which complements the organization’s mission of helping Asian-American entrepreneurs connect and succeed. EWB has been a corporate sponsor of ABALA for several years and is actively engaged on its Advisory Council through the participation of Steven S. Chang, SVP-Deputy Chief Credit Officer and Head of Managed Assets.
