Nevada Region Participates in Suit Drive to Prepare Women for Jobs
PUBLISHED NOVEMBER 04, 2016
Earlier this month, our associates from the Las Vegas branch volunteered for United Way of Southern Nevada Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) Annual “Women’s Fall Suit Drive”.
The WLC Suit Drive benefits back-to-work programs by collecting new and gently-used, clean professional attire to assist women in need. The drive prepares women for career opportunities and helps with building the confidence to succeed during an interview and in the workplace.
Janet Chao, Director of Nevada, who is a member of United Way of Southern Nevada Women’s Leadership Council along with Nevada region teammates Livey Yao, Branch Manager; Stephanie Espinoza, Assistant Branch Manager; and Melvi Lenear-Liston, Relationship Associate, volunteered their time at the drive to coordinate business attires to prepare women for interviews.
With the community’s support, over 11,000 items were donated and volunteers put together nearly 1,700 outfits.
This is just a small example of the way our Nevada team continues to give back to the community. We applaud them for their participation in this meaningful event.
