EWB Teacher- Volunteers empowering children to take control of their financial future
PUBLISHED OCTOBER 9, 2014
On October 9th 2014, East West Bank partnered with Operation Hope and Hamilton Elementary School in Pasadena for "EWB Banking on Our Future (BOOF) Day". Together, we had 24 dedicated EWB teacher-volunteers from across our SoCal Region and taught financial literacy education to 10 classrooms totaling 323 students ranging from 3rd through 5th grade levels. The fun interactive classes included modules that focused on introduction to basic financial services and education to help build a financially secure future. Each student was provided with a student workbook and East West Bank gift for students to keep and enjoy.
A big thank you to all of our East West Bank employees that volunteered their time to inspire and educate our next generation. Through financial literacy education, we are impacting and making a difference by empowering them to take control of their financial future.
Volunteering through Financial literacy education not only is rewarding and fun, but you can also help East West Bank obtain community service hours. If you are interested in participating in future events, please contact our CRA/Community Affairs Division for more information at 626.768.6265.
