Give Back to Your Community! - United Way 2012 HomeWalk
PUBLISHED November 12, 2012
In November 2012, a team of over 170 East West Bank associates participated in the United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ “6th Annual HomeWalk 5K Run/Walk” to end homelessness at Los Angeles’ Exposition Park.
Collectively, East West Bank associates raised nearly $38,000 for the walk, with the bank donating additional funds to bring the donation total to $50,000, making East West Bank the number one overall fundraising team for the walk.
“I am very proud of our presence here today,” said Dominic Ng, East West Bank Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The East West Bank team looked very good at the rally, and even Kobe Bryant, NBA legend and HomeWalk’s Honorary Chairman, was impressed! Thank you very much to everyone for your support and great turnout.”
All proceeds from the walk help the United Way of Greater Los Angeles continue their mission to:
• Reduce homelessness in Los Angeles County by 31% and align $105 million in resources toward permanent supportive housing solutions
• Provide after-school support to over 24,000 students
• Leverage over $40 million in Earned Income Tax Credits to low-income working families and assist 5,600 adults with job training
