Dallas Associates: Making Spirits Bright
PUBLISHED DECEMBER 6, 2019
In preparation for the holidays, our Dallas team partnered with Salvation Army of North Texas to double down efforts to serve the community with two recent events.
Our Dallas associates assembled Angel Tree Kits, informational packets that educate participating donors on the Angel Tree Program, which help children and families in need. The tree program is one of The Salvation Army's highest profile holiday giving efforts in which Angel Trees are placed at local malls and companies with a tag for each individual in need with the list of their desired Christmas gifts. Donors then select their “Angel” and purchase new gifts, which are returned to the Angel Tree to benefit the family. In addition to making this program possible, our volunteer efforts also helped Salvation Army reach their service goals, making them eligible for the NFL’s 100th anniversary challenge grant funds.
Also setting the stage for a festive and warm holiday celebration, our Dallas associates worked with Salvation Army to sort donated clothes and prepare pantry bags for seniors. This volunteer effort keep seniors’ bodies, heart, and stomachs warm throughout the winter.
Thank you to our leaders in Texas Michael Burr, Christina Kitchens, Jeff Matthews, Sharmila Solanki, and the rest of the Dallas associates who participated to make the holidays brighter!
