On November 24, 2014, East West Bank joined hands with the Lakers to provide a memorable Thanksgiving feast for the residents of the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC). This event kicked-off the annual “A Season of Giving” series presented by East West Bank gives underprivileged Lakers fans a unique opportunity to share holiday festivities with players and the Laker Girls. East West Bank staff volunteers arrived at DWC early that afternoon to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for over 100 homeless and low-income women in Skid Row. The DWC residents greeted Lakers player Robert Sacre and Hall of Famer James Worthy with warm cheers and hugs as they arrived to help serve the meal side by side with East West Bank staff volunteers and Laker Girls.
East West Bank and the Lakers continued their annual “A Season of Giving” series by donating and passing out Thanksgiving turkeys and meals to 300 needy families at the Salvation Army in Inglewood on November 25, 2014. Lakers star Jeremy Lin and Ed Davis worked side by side with East West Bank staff volunteers and Laker girls to distribute the turkeys and other food items to provide a full Thanksgiving meal for each family. East West Bank staff volunteers helped each family carry the turkeys and boxes to their cars and wished each family a happy holiday season.
