Helping Students Develop Good Money Habits
PUBLISHED APRIL 10, 2019
It’s never too early to learn about money! In partnership with Operation HOPE, the bank hosted a Banking On Our Future financial literacy day for over 140 fourth and sixth grade students at Emma Shuey Elementary, a Title I school located in Rosemead, CA, on Wednesday, April 10.
We had 13 bank associates who volunteered to teach the financial literacy course which covered topics such as the basics of budgeting, checking and savings. Students learned how to distinguish between a need and want, set a budget, write a check, and more. Our volunteers enjoyed getting to know these bright students and helping them get a head start in learning good money habits!
