Inspiring the Next Generation of Banking Leaders
PUBLISHED MARCH 02, 2017
Several Houston team members recently volunteered to host Junior Achievement’s (JA) Job Shadow program for 30 students from O’Donnell Middle School, a Title I school in the local low- to moderate-income area of Houston.
JA Job Shadow is an opportunity for middle and high school students to visit a company to gain valuable exposure to their mission, values and available career opportunities. Participating students are 8th graders who were selected to attend due to their interest in finance.
The event includes a tour of our commercial and retail branch while our team members help students understand the various department roles and functions at our bank. In addition, students also learn important life skills on decision making, career planning, interview tips, and saving for college.
Many thanks to the Houston team members who made this program possible for inspiring these students to gain a head start on their future careers: Ana Peraza(BSA Analyst), Anne Le(Marketing Specialist), Alberto Hernandez(AVP-BSA Coordinator), Jack Li(AVP-Branch Manager-Bellaire Branch), Janice Chow(Elite Banking Associate), Jewell Dillard(Office Operations Manager), Juan Aybar(VP-Business Relationship Manager), Sheila Stewart(VP-Sr. Comm. Review Appraiser).
