EWB Associates Clean Local Beach, Make Coastal Waters Safe
PUBLISHED AUGUST 29, 2017
This summer the bank partnered with Heal the Bay by participating in the California Coastal Commission’s Adopt-a-Beach program. The program gives people of all ages the opportunity to learn about and participate in the conservation of our coastal resources. Over the course of three separate beach cleanups, nearly 100 of the bank’s employees from various departments gathered to remove over 4,900 pieces of trash from Dockweiler Beach.
By cleaning the beach, participants collected valuable data on the types of trash they found at the beach and learned how trash on our streets impact our oceans. This data is used for educational, scientific and legislative purposes to make Southern California coastal waters safe and healthy for people and marine life.
Many thanks to all the EWB volunteers who helped to make our beaches more beautiful!
