In partnership with Kaimore, whose mission is to break down barriers to economic mobility, a group of our associates volunteered to offer free tax preparation services to residents of Beacon Housing in Pasadena, a shelter that serves low-income families and survivors of domestic violence. Our associates spent the day making sure these individuals got more of their hard-earned money back.
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs assist qualified low- and moderate-income families with refund filing and free tax preparation so that they can keep more of the money they earn. As the largest anti-poverty program for working families, EITC brings billions of dollars in refunds to qualified taxpayers nationwide, helping to subsidize family income and further drive the local economy.
