Bridging the Financial Gap During Texas Winter Storms
PUBLISHED APRIL 7, 2021
Texas was recently hit with winter storms that left millions of residents without heat, water, or power for days. Many of the local nonprofit organizations were also struggling as they were suffering from damages to their facilities. To help out our communities in this time of need, the bank donated to several local nonprofits in to help combat any financial shortfalls that might have occurred.
In Dallas, we donated $10,000 to The Family Place, a nonprofit organization that provides safe housing, counseling and other critical services to victims of domestic/family violence. They are the largest family violence service provider in Texas. They have 3 emergency shelters providing 177 beds each night, including the state’s only shelter for men and children, and 3 counseling centers. Their shelters endured extensive damage which resulted in a displacement of a significant number of victims across a broad range of locations. Our contribution will help the organization bridge the financial gap to repair these facilities created by the winter storms.
We are hopeful these harsh times will pass and applaud the good work of these nonprofit organizations to provide such valuable services to people in need.
