Free Tax Help Offered to Underserved SF Latino Community
PUBLISHED APRIL 3, 2021
In partnership with Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) and Latino Task Force in San Francisco, our associates recently volunteered to provide reliable, free tax preparation services to over 45 low income families and individuals through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)/Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program. The program is an Internal Revenue Service initiative that supports free tax preparation service for underserved communities.
This year has been an exceptionally busy tax season due to the unique circumstances surrounding COVID. Many taxpayers had questions regarding their stimulus payments, unemployment, and other adjustments made by the IRS mid-season. Despite the challenges, our volunteers helped bring more money back to taxpayers in the Bay Area by ensuring families were able to receive the maximum possible tax return.
