East West Bank Departments Take Initiative in Helping Children
PUBLISHED DECEMBER 20, 2016
The holidays are a magical moment, especially for children. We appreciate our associates who embodied the East West Bank spirit of giving and helped make this holiday season extra-special for the children in our communities.
The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) team brought smiles to underprivileged children in Los Angeles County by donating more than 200 toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Tu Trinh, senior BSA analyst of the Anti-Money Laundering Group, initiated the drive and mobilized an entire team of almost 150 associates to participate. Within two weeks, the donation boxes were quickly filled with brand new toys. U.S. Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Quavis L. Schuler visited the team to thank them for supporting Toys for Tots.
At the same time, various branches and corporate departments donated almost 300 toys to the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley’s 6th Annual Toy Drive. The toys were distributed to members at the Boys & Girls Club’s annual holiday party, where the kids played, made arts and crafts, and enjoyed the holiday spirit.
We want to thank everyone for extending the holiday warmth to all corners of our communities and wish you all a happy holiday season!
