We are pleased to announce that the East West Bank Foundation will make a $1 million seed grant to establish the new “Immigrant Neighbor Fund,” which was formed by the Voto Latino Foundation, Mission Asset Fund and Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) to assist families excluded from receiving COVID-19 relief funds from the recent government assistance programs.

This is more than just a grant. We are instead proactively creating a new fund where we can make an active difference, one that upholds the principles on which we were founded. This Fund will support frontline healthcare, food service, agriculture, hospitality and temporary workers so that they can meet basic needs like rent, groceries and transportation. At a time when hard-working folks are losing their jobs at higher rates and their families are more painfully impacted, these workers need and deserve our help.
