In urban areas, trees are vital in protecting us from the changing climate but are scarce. EWB volunteers are taking action for a greener city. On Saturday, October 14, nearly 30 bank team members along with their family volunteered their morning to provide care for over 100 trees in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park.
The tree care included weeding, watering, mulching, and readjusting stakes to newer trees, all which help make air breathable, streets walkable, and parks playable.
The event also became a fun educational moment for many as they encountered wildlife such as toads, animal eggs, and more. Through the event, our team learned that trees provide habitat for wildlife and truly make LA livable. We are grateful for our volunteers’ efforts in making the city green and sustainable for years to come!
